Curtis (Benjamin R.) House is built.

1866

(ca.) One of four contiguous houses built for Charles Freeland, it is located at 21 Marlborough Street. Former Supreme Court Justice Benjamin Curtis and his wife are the first occupants. Subsequent occupants include Mrs. Ann Winsor and her daughter Mary Winsor, founders of the Winsor School. The building is operated as a lodging house with 23 Marlborough Street in 1905, purchased by the Katherine Gibbs School in 1936 and used as a dormitory and then offices. The building is converted to condominiums in 1993.
